Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Equity Research Associate to join our team.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior investment professionals in analyzing equities and contributing to the firm's investment decision-making process. The position is a full-time role with a commitment of 2-4 years
, providing a foundation for future career advancement in investment management or related fields.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to forecast company and investment performance and valuation.
- Prepare investment memos, presentations, and reports to support investment team recommendations for current portfolio holdings.
- Monitor industry trends, macroeconomic developments, and competitive dynamics impacting investment theses.
- Conduct deep fundamental research and analysis on publicly traded large-cap companies across the Technology, Health Care, Financial, and Consumer Discretionary sectors.
- After an initial training period of 9-18 months, collaborate with portfolio managers and other team members to identify and evaluate investment opportunities outside of the portfolio.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field. Progress towards the CFA and/or a desire to attain the CFA is a plus.
- 0-3 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, or a related analytical role.
- Passion for investing and intellectual curiosity about markets and industries.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
This position offers a competitive base salary and a performance-based bonus. Total compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Firm LocationThe Ithaka Group is headquartered in the Washington DC metropolitan area, specifically in Arlington, Virginia. The role requires on-site employment, and defers to the U.S. stock market holiday schedule for closures.
