Position Summary:

We seek a strategic leader to serve as a collaborative member of the senior leadership team and to lead the continued transformation of NRECA’s finance function.
The leader will support a strong culture and high-performing team that engages across the enterprise, leveraging knowledge from across professional experience to support organizational decision-making. NRECA’s financial function supports the association, its subsidiaries and affiliated entities, three multi-employer pension and welfare plans, and the Homestead Mutual Funds. This executive manages a team of 64 across the NRECA Finance and Accounting Department and stewardship of NRECA’s $290 million budget.
- Lead the development and execution of strategic planning efforts to enhance NRECA’s ability to deliver on its mission and goals by optimizing the financial position.
- Direct the finance department to engage across the enterprise, aligning capabilities and capacity to optimize departmental performance.
- Drive technological innovation in a complex, highly regulated service environment.
- Ensure strong financial functions including internal controls, planning, forecasting and analysis, balance sheet and cash flow management, audit, and taxes.
- Oversee Strategic, Sourcing and Procurement (SS&P) strategies and operations to support all NRECA business operations.
- Lead a data-driven budgeting and financial forecasting process to support organization-wide decision making and strategic planning.
- Ensure accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls reflect high standards of integrity, transparency, and compliance.
- Oversee cash management and treasury functions.
- Collaborate on leasing of NRECA buildings to maximize long-term leasing and minimize vacancy risks.
- Oversee optimization and integration of Workday ERP accounting and budgeting, with enhancements to improve efficiencies and automation.
- Stay informed on new accounting concepts, SEC rules, GAAP, tax laws, and NRECA policies to ensure compliance.

Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Master’s degree preferred; additional training in finance-related information systems and procedures is a plus. - Experience and Certifications
Required:
10+ years of progressively senior management experience in finance and accounting. Broad finance background with strength in accounting and FP&A. Prior public accounting experience and nonprofit, government contracting, and ERISA experience are a plus. - Strategic Thinking & Financial Strategy:
Develop and lead a finance strategy that drives transformation; partner with the CEO, senior leadership, and boards; analyze data to support decisions and create strategic alignment; foster innovation. - People Leadership:
Attract, recruit, motivate and develop talent; align resources, processes, and technology; drive continuous improvement. - Relationships and Influence:
Build strong relationships, translate complex financial information into practical guidance, exercise judgement and diplomacy, and create a sense of purpose for the team. - Executing for Results:
Set clear goals, drive results, develop implementation plans, and strengthen finance systems and organizational design.
