Position OverviewThe Special Operations Support Policy Staff Officer II will provide critical support to the HUMINT & Sensitive Activities Directorate within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (OUSD(I&S)). This role involves supporting the oversight, management, and development of policies related to sensitive activities and special operations.
Work LocationPentagon, Arlington, VA
Job Responsibilities Policy Development and CoordinationSupport the oversight, management, and coordination of complex sensitive programs and activities.
Assist in planning, directing, and coordinating the development of policies related to sensitive activities and support for issues requiring short notice information and decision support for DoD senior leaders.
Research and AnalysisGather, synthesize, and prepare background information and read-ahead materials for issues and engagements regarding intelligence and intelligence-related policy, program, and activity support to special operations, including counter terrorism and irregular warfare.
Strategy and Policy ImplementationSupport the development, review, and revision of strategy and policy direction for the coordination, assessment, reporting, and conduct of sensitive activities.
Assist in implementing solutions that aid in decision-making processes related to special operations.
Education andMinimum Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI Clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Special Operations Forces and/or clandestine operations.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with developing policy and providing recommendations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a high-stakes environment and manage multiple priorities.
