Ultrasound Tech

Medical City Arlington – Ultrasound Tech (Full Time, Nights)

Schedule:

Wednesday – Friday, 6:30 P.M. – 7 A.M.

The Ultrasound Technician conducts diagnostic procedures to provide data for patient diagnosis. The position includes the following responsibilities.

• Perform diagnostic procedures using ultrasound technique.
• Select transducer and adjust equipment controls based on the organ being examined and test specifications.
• Explain procedures to patients and address their concerns.
• Enter test data and patient information into computer systems for record keeping.
• Assist physicians with ultrasound‑guided biopsies and other invasive procedures.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment.
• Monitor, record, and communicate test results using computerized documentation systems.
• Apply age‑specific patient care practices in performing duties.
• Orient and mentor new staff members.
• Provide a safe environment for administering contrast material.
• Assist with patient transport.
• Follow standard precautions and wear personal protective equipment as required.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, making independent decisions while maintaining tact, maturity, and a positive attitude. Initiative and judgment are required.
• Perform high‑level disinfection.

• Educational requirement:
  Technical degree or vocational training in ultrasound or related field.
• Experience:
  
  Prefer at least 1 year of ultrasound experience.
• Licenses/Registrations/
  
  Certifications:
  • Registered by R.D.M.S. in Abdomen or Ob/Gyn within 6 months of hire, promotion, or completion of training program.
  • Registered by R.D.M.S (RVT) or (RVS) by C.C.I.
  • BLS certification from an HCA‑approved vendor (required).
