Medical City Arlington – Ultrasound Tech (Full Time, Nights)
Schedule:
Wednesday – Friday, 6:30 P.M. – 7 A.M.
The Ultrasound Technician conducts diagnostic procedures to provide data for patient diagnosis. The position includes the following responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic procedures using ultrasound technique.
- Select transducer and adjust equipment controls based on the organ being examined and test specifications.
- Explain procedures to patients and address their concerns.
- Enter test data and patient information into computer systems for record keeping.
- Assist physicians with ultrasound‑guided biopsies and other invasive procedures.
- Maintain and calibrate equipment.
- Monitor, record, and communicate test results using computerized documentation systems.
- Apply age‑specific patient care practices in performing duties.
- Orient and mentor new staff members.
- Provide a safe environment for administering contrast material.
- Assist with patient transport.
- Follow standard precautions and wear personal protective equipment as required.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, making independent decisions while maintaining tact, maturity, and a positive attitude. Initiative and judgment are required.
- Perform high‑level disinfection.
- Educational requirement:
Technical degree or vocational training in ultrasound or related field. - Experience:
Prefer at least 1 year of ultrasound experience. - Licenses/Registrations/
Certifications:- Registered by R.D.M.S. in Abdomen or Ob/Gyn within 6 months of hire, promotion, or completion of training program.
- Registered by R.D.M.S (RVT) or (RVS) by C.C.I.
- BLS certification from an HCA‑approved vendor (required).
