Member needs a dependable caregiver to provide hands‑on guidance and support in the home due to total vision loss. The caregiver must be comfortable assisting with safe navigation around the home and community, guiding the member during walking/transfers and helping prevent falls or injuries. The member lives alone and may experience anxiety/panic symptoms, so the ideal caregiver is calm, patient, reassuring, and able to provide steady companionship and a structured routine.
The member also benefits from a caregiver who can help reduce triggers by keeping the environment organized, predictable, and low stress. The member has respiratory sensitivity (asthma history); the caregiver should be mindful of strong odors, smoke, heavy fragrances, harsh cleaning chemicals, and help maintain good airflow and a clean environment.
- Personal Care Assistance: support with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and hygiene as needed.
- Mobility & Safety Support: guided assistance with walking, transfers, fall prevention, and safe navigation throughout the home.
- Meal Support: meal prep, cooking, assistance setting up meals, and cleanup (mindful of respiratory sensitivities—avoid strong fumes/chemicals).
- Light Housekeeping: tidying, sweeping/mopping (low‑odor products preferred), dishes, laundry, changing bed linens, and keeping pathways clear for safety.
- Companionship & Reassurance: calm presence, supportive conversation, and help maintaining a predictable routine to reduce anxiety.
- Errands/Shopping (if needed): assistance with grocery runs and essential errands. Driving may be required if errands are part of the care plan.
- Observation & Reporting: monitor for changes in condition, breathing comfort, or increased anxiety and report to agency per policy.
