Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist supports the day-to-day operational functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, with a primary focus on recruiting coordination, onboarding, HRIS administration, leave navigation, and general HR support. This role partners closely with the Human Resources Director and Insperity to ensure consistent application of HR processes across USSM and provides dedicated HR support for centers without local HR representation.
The HR Generalist handles routine inquiries, administrative tasks, and process coordination, while escalating complex or sensitive matters as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviews, tracks, and coordinates compliance training, continuing education, and work assessments, which may include safety training and anti-harassment training
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates hire of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with other leaders as required to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Processes background checks and employee eligibility verification, as required.
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine administrative and coordination tasks required to support human resources programs with Insperity, including compensation, leaves, employee relations processes, performance management, training, and related documentation.
- Handles routine employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate personnel.
- Attends employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed for documentation, coordination, or support purposes, with complex or sensitive matters escalated to the Human Resources Director.
- Maintains awareness of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and works in partnership with Insperity and the Human Resources Director to support compliance efforts and best practices.
- Maintains current knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Assists HR/Payroll Representative on payroll as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Prior experience working with a Professional Employer Organization (PEO), preferred.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- One to three years of human resources experience preferred.
- Current human resources and/or compensation credentials or certification, such as PHR, SPHR, CP, CCP, SCP, or similar, preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel up to approximately 25%, including visits to USSM managed sites across multiple states, and corporate offices.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer, including participation in virtual meetings.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
