Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Principal Architect to lead the technical direction of an Agentic AI initiative across customer-facing digital platforms. This role will serve as the on-shore technical fulcrum
, translating business ambition into scalable, governed, production-ready systems.

This is a hands-on architecture role
, not research-focused and not purely managerial.

• Define and own the end-to-end architecture for agent-driven digital experiences across apps, loyalty, payments, and commerce workflows.
• Establish agent-ready API standards and guide the exposure of enterprise services for safe autonomous consumption.
• Lead integration of AI agents with retail systems such as product catalogs, inventory, pricing, promotions, loyalty, and checkout.
• Guide multi-agent orchestration patterns
  , tool/function calling, and runtime governance.
• Partner with data teams to assess and improve semantic readiness (taxonomy, metadata, knowledge graphs).
• Define guardrails for risk, trust, and compliance
  , including spend controls, age-restricted items, fraud prevention, and auditability.
• Act as the primary technical interface between business leaders, delivery teams, and platform partners.
• Review designs, APIs, and implementations to ensure quality, scalability, and maintainability.

• 15+ years in enterprise or platform architecture roles
• Strong background in API-first, distributed systems and real-time data

• Hands-on experience in Retail or Consumer Commerce
  , including:
• Product catalog & merchandising systems
• Store-level inventory & availability
• Pricing & promotions
• Loyalty programs & subscriptions
• Checkout, payments, or digital wallets
• Familiarity with omnichannel or convenience retail is a strong plus

• Practical experience with LLMs and agent frameworks
• Familiarity with tool/function calling and multi-agent patterns
• Experience operationalizing AI in real customer-facing systems

• Understanding of event-driven architectures and data quality challenges
• Experience with semantic models, metadata layers, or knowledge graphs preferred

• Credible with senior business and technical stakeholders
• Able to communicate complex systems in business-relevant language
• Comfortable making architectural trade-offs and setting boundaries
• Hands-on enough to code & review code, APIs, and system designs
