GENERAL FUNCTION

The Business Analytics Director leads the analytical work required to drive decision making and business performance improvement for the Eye Care, Doctor (OD) recruiting, OD CRM and contact lens businesses. The role is responsible for partnering with all senior leaders of the Eye Care team and Retail Brands to provide detailed reports, identify trends and provide insights to improve performance.

The Business Analytics Director develops the Key Performance Indicators to drive the business and enables leadership to make critical decisions. The individual acts as a thought‑provoker and creates a culture to resolve business needs utilizing a fact‑based approach.

This role supports the strategic plan development, key initiatives, and improves run‑the‑business activities. In addition, the individual will be responsible for overseeing the scheduling and management of labor in employed stores.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leverages company and market information to assess current situation, identifies key implications and trends, and develops strategies to successfully improve results.
  • Leads the analytic effort to drive business performance improvement for the Eye Care teams – analyzes business results, drives the identification of opportunities to improve performance, develops business cases, and collaborates with key partners to help brainstorm and support key innovation.
  • Creates and develops a fact‑based approach to business management in the leadership team by developing and owning performance dashboards.
  • Researches, synthesizes, and develops perspectives and recommendations on and for critical business issues using both internal and external sources of information.
  • Develops specific action plans with business leaders in Eyecare operations, Contact Lens Marketing, OD recruiting and OD CRM to realize opportunities, address shortfalls, and implement a longer‑term corporate vision.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business or quantitative field
  • 10+ years of work experience
  • Excellent prioritization skills with a clear focus on results
  • Highly analytical – ability to absorb large sets of data and scan external sources to prove or disprove hypotheses based on 2‑3 sources of information
  • Strong Excel modeling (financial and business) capabilities including multi‑variant regression
  • Experience in Business Objects, Tableau and other reporting tools
  • Ability to interpret analytical findings into relevant, actionable and understandable business insights and actions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset and ability to interact with and influence senior leadership
  • Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years of work experience in Analytics or Finance functions
  • Experience in Labor Management
