Microsoft Help Desk Specialist

Our client, a government agency specializing in information technology services, is seeking a Microsoft Help Desk Specialist to join their IT support department.

Arlington, Virginia

Pay Range

Fair Market Rate

Responsibilities
  • Manage end‑user support for Microsoft‑based applications and systems, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures for ticketing and support workflows.
  • Analyze performance metrics to identify areas for operational improvements.
  • Serve as a Tier 1 and 2 support agent, escalating complex issues to program leadership as needed.
  • Maintain and update knowledge articles within the team’s Wiki to ensure accurate and current support information.
Requirements
  • Strong federal background with experience supporting government or military IT systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • 1‑2 years of experience supporting software applications, preferably Microsoft‑based.
  • Experience with Help Desk operations and troubleshooting Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to work up to 100% onsite in the National Capital Region with access to NIPR and SIPR networks.
