Responsibilities

The Site Reliability Engineer under the general direction from leadership will assist in day-to-day tasks critical to the team's success. The position will support cloud infrastructure architecture and components, including hybrid cloud and Public Cloud platforms. This includes prototyping, initiating, and operationalizing Public Cloud solutions. The role also supports overall Cloud Transformation initiatives designed to create a service-driven culture through performance and delivery of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS solutions by public cloud vendors such as Azure and AWS.

The engineer will be responsible for configuration, efficiency, and performance of the deployed public cloud solutions. The scope includes cloud engineering, advanced automation capabilities, and overlap into software development disciplines.

  • Design and automate governance framework across cloud environments
  • Automate identity and access management in cloud environments in partnership with provisioning teams and in accordance with policy frameworks
  • Partner with delivery teams to enable cloud services and infrastructure-as-code patterns for automated deployments
  • Collaborate with dev, ops, and security stakeholders to meet security and governance requirements while minimizing impact on developer productivity
  • Proactive monitoring, logging, audits, and automated policy enforcement for security and cost compliance
  • Ensure service availability and continuity through proper incident response and requests handling
  • Build long-term strategic roadmap with management, providing mentorship to peers seeking to up‑skill
  • Work in an evolving operating model based on agile/scrum and SRE practices
  • Assist Cloud Transformation and related Squads with automation and configuration management design
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend opportunities for automation; maintain processes that are simple and leverage CI/CD pipelines where possible
  • Develop test plans and accept items for production release
  • Develop automated post‑release validation
  • Maintain cloud integration documentation and standards aligned with enterprise architecture
  • Participate in business discussions, solution architectures, and customer-related activities when required
  • Prototype and test infrastructure components
  • Validate and contribute to operational testing and change plans
  • Provide Tier‑3 automation support for cloud ecosystem, infrastructure, and automation
  • Assist in various cloud reporting activities
  • Manage platform and service monitoring within cloud ecosystems
  • Assist in the design of highly available, fault‑tolerant, and cloud DR failover capabilities
Qualifications
  • Command of Windows and Linux operating systems with strong troubleshooting background
  • Knowledge of native Kubernetes or related enterprise container platforms such as Open Shift
  • Understanding of platform mechanics and the deployment pipeline that feeds it
  • Experience with Public Cloud Governance frameworks, architectures, configurations, services, and solutions, specifically within Microsoft Azure, AWS, and GCP
  • Knowledge of core Azure services such as Azure Kubernetes Service, Cosmos DB, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Azure CLI, and Power Shell Cmdlets
  • Knowledge of Azure organizational entities such as departments, accounts, subscriptions, resource groups, and management groups
  • Strong automation skills in Linux and Windows including Bash, Python, and Power Shell
  • Extensive experience with Terraform and associated development
  • Experience with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates and related automation methods
  • Experience with modern source control repositories (e.g., Git) and Dev Ops toolsets (Jenkins, Ansible, etc.) and familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
