We’re looking for a Jira Administrator to help manage the Atlassian Jira platform, focus on configuration, user management, and system customization to meet business needs.
This role is responsible for controlling workflows, screens, fields, and apps, and holding higher permissions than project administrators.
The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of Jira administration, workflow engineering, and automation expertise, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-visibility government environment. Key duties include enhancing productivity through automation, managing licensing costs, and ensuring efficient workflow design.

How You’ll ContributeOwn and manage the Jira Software and Jira Service Management to support multiple delivery teams at scale.
Design and implement scalable workflows, permission models, and configuration schemes aligned to program needs and agile operations requirements.
Build and maintain automation solutions, such as Jira Automation or Script Runner, to reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
Develop advanced dashboards and reporting using JQL and native tools to provide leadership with visibility into program health, velocity, and risks.
Standardize Jira usage across teams by establishing best practices for backlog management, sprint tracking, and reporting structures.
Partner with program leadership, product owners, and delivery teams to translate business needs into technical Jira solutions.
Support Agile delivery by configuring Jira to enable Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe frameworks.
Continuously assess and improve Jira configurations to enhance performance, scalability, and user experience.
Manage user access, roles, and permissions in compliance with security and governance requirements.
Provide technical guidance and support to users, troubleshooting issues and driving adoption of Jira best practices.
You Have3+ years of experience administering Jira in a mid-to-large scale environment, including multiple teams and 50–100+ users.
Experience as an Atlassian Global Administrator.
Experience with Jira workflows, schemes such as permission, notification, and screen, and configuration, Jira Automation or Script Runner, such as validators, post-functions, or custom logic, JQL, and dashboard and report development.
Experience with Jira Service Management (JSM) configuration and support.
Experience supporting Agile delivery teams, such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe, through Jira configuration.
Experience with Agile project management, lean development principles, and Scrum practices, including point estimations, sprint planning, retrospective meetings, and requirements gathering sessions.
Knowledge of Atlassian Cloud or Data Center environments.
Ability to translate functional requirements into technical Jira solutions.
Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience as Jira administrator in lieu of a degree.
Nice If You HaveExperience with DoD or IC.
Experience with large‑scale programs worth over $1M annually for government clients.
Experience integrating Jira with Confluence, APIs, or Dev Ops tool chains.
Experience in workflow optimization and process improvement.
Experience managing or supporting enterprise-scale Atlassian environment.
Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to be detail‑oriented with a focus on delivering high‑quality, reliable solutions.
Possession of excellent collaboration skills.

Salary is determined by location, education, skills, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $ (annualized USD).
