Job Title
Under general supervision, this grant funded position is responsible for collecting, managing, analyzing, and reporting program data for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and HOME Investment Partnerships programs. This role ensures accurate data reporting for grant compliance and supports departmental evaluation activities aligned with HUD requirements.
Essential Job Functions- Collects, organizes, and maintains program data for the Grants Management Department to support routine reporting, surveillance, and evaluation needs.
- Analyzes qualitative and quantitative data, identifies trends, and prepares clear, accurate reports, charts, graphs, and fact sheets for internal and external stakeholders.
- Interprets program performance data and communicates findings in a clear, objective manner for both professional and non-technical audiences.
- Provides technical assistance to subrecipients on data collection procedures, reporting requirements, and performance measurement expectations.
- Assists with monitoring subrecipient projects and supports the development of reporting tools, evaluation summaries, and compliance documentation according to HUD guidelines.
- Must be able to travel up to 35%.
- Other grant management duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of office and administrative practices and procedures.
- Skill in using PC Software including current Microsoft Office Suite of applications.
- Skill in communicating professionally and tactfully with other city employees and the public by oral and written means.
- Strong written communication skills with excellent attention to detail and organization.
- Skilled in using databases and electronic systems to enter, manage, and track information.
- Proficient in analyzing and organizing data, including creating professional visual displays such as charts and graphs.
- Experience using statistical or survey software (e.g., SPSS, Qualtrics).
- Strong attention to data accuracy and compliance.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment utilizing knowledge of the organization's policies.
- Ability to work independently under general instructions and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to perform a variety of physical skills including but not limited to filing, pulling, seeing, sorting, squatting, standing, stooping, twisting body, typing, walking, and writing.
- Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including but not limited to PC, telephone, calculator, scanner, and copier.
- Ability to prioritize deadlines and tasks.
- Ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly.
- Ability to plan, organize, monitor, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish unit objectives.
- Ability to understand mathematical calculations involving fractions, percentages, and decimals.
- Ability to work within a set schedule.
Qualifying
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a data focused or quantitative field such as business administration, public administration, public health, public policy, statistics, educational research, or related discipline.
- Experience with data collection or program reporting.
Preferred
Education and Experience:
- Experience with data collection or program reporting, especially in a grant funded or governmental environment preferred
