Job Description & How to Apply Below

Lead the product team building the shared foundation for Bloomberg Industry Group’s next-generation AI-powered experiences. We are seeking a Senior Director, Core, AI & Search to set direction for foundational capabilities across Bloomberg Law, Bloomberg Tax, and Bloomberg Government. This role will lead Product Managers and Technical Product Managers, partner deeply with Engineering and cross-functional leaders, and ensure shared platform investments translate into trusted, measurable user and business outcomes.

The right candidate combines technical fluency, platform judgment, organizational leadership, and a strong track record of developing people. You will create clarity across complex, interdependent product areas and help teams deliver scalable, AI-native experiences for legal, tax, and government professionals.

What You Will Do:
  • Establish product strategy and roadmap direction for Bloomberg Industry Group’s shared AI, search, and platform capabilities.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Managers and Technical Product Managers responsible for critical foundational capabilities.
  • Ensure Core, AI & Search efforts operate as a connected portfolio rather than isolated product or platform roadmaps.
  • Shape long-term product investments and resource allocation across AI, search, data, workflow, and platform capabilities.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Data Science, Architecture, UX, User Research, Legal, Security, Privacy, Content, and business unit Product leaders to align priorities and technical direction.
  • Establish operating rhythms for ownership, intake, prioritization, dependencies, and decision-making across complex, interdependent product areas.
  • Ensure shared capabilities are developed as reusable, scalable building blocks that support differentiated legal, tax, and government workflows.
  • Define quality and measurement expectations for AI and search capabilities, including relevance, response quality, reliability, explainability, attribution, safety, and user trust.
  • Connect platform and infrastructure decisions to user-facing outcomes such as task completion, response usefulness, workflow efficiency, adoption, and user confidence.
  • Partner with business unit and commercial leaders to ensure shared platform capabilities support adoption, positioning, and measurable customer value.
  • Influence executive investment decisions through clear, evidence-based narratives grounded in user needs, platform leverage, technical feasibility, and business impact.
  • Build organizational capability by establishing standards for product and technical product management craft, including platform strategy, architecture partnership, product discovery, technical requirements, measurement, stakeholder alignment, and executive communication.
  • Foster a culture grounded in user outcomes, technical excellence, responsible AI, experimentation, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
You Need to Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience building and shipping digital products, or appropriate subject matter expertise relevant to the product.
  • 10+ years working on technology-powered products as a Product Manager, Product Designer, Engineer, Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or User Researcher, typically including at least 7 years in a Product Manager role, or equivalent experience as a subject matter expert and user of similar products.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience, with demonstrated ability to lead others.
  • Proven success leading multiple product teams, large product portfolios, or strategically important business initiatives.
  • Deep expertise in product strategy, organizational leadership, and portfolio management.
  • Experience shaping investment decisions, operating models, and long-term strategic direction.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with a track record of developing leaders and building high performing organizations.
  • Experience leading managers, developing leadership pipelines, and supporting succession planning.
