POSITION SUMMARY

The Supply Chain Manager will purchase products, provide coaching and leadership, and provide hands‑on planning expertise for a team responsible for ensuring the continuous supply of purchased finished goods to meet customer service, inventory, and business objectives.

This is a working manager position: the leader oversees the team’s performance, processes, and planning rigor, while also personally owning a portion of the planning portfolio (MRP execution, inventory analysis, and purchase order management). This role ensures alignment across Sales, Product, Marketing, Customer Service, Procurement, Finance, and Distribution to deliver an efficient, data‑driven, and service‑focused approach to purchased products within the supply chain.

This position will be onsite at the Corporate Headquarters in Arlington, TX.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership & Team Management (40%)

Lead and coach the Supply Planners responsible for purchased product inventory, supply plans, and replenishment execution. Set planning priorities, performance expectations, and development plans to build the team’s functional capability. Establish and maintain SOPs, ensuring consistent processes, planning discipline, and training across the team. Monitor daily supply performance, intervening and guiding planners through exception management, recovery plans, and cross‑functional communication.

Working Manager Responsibilities (30%) Hands‑On Planning

Personally manage a portion of the purchased product portfolio, including MRP execution, inventory analysis, and replenishment planning. Create and manage purchase orders aligned to approved supply plans. Review and resolve MRP exceptions, past‑due supply, and projected shortages. Analyze inventory levels, demand trends, and inbound supply to proactively address risks and prevent stockouts or excess. Maintain planning parameters (lead times, order quantities, safety stock, lot sizes) for assigned items.

Inventory

& Supply Optimization (15%)

Oversee inventory strategy for purchased products, balancing service levels with working capital targets. Ensure accurate execution of replenishment signals, safety stock policies, and SKU segmentation strategies. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning for inventory overstocks, shortfalls, or data inconsistencies. Monitor receipts, transfers, and inbound shipments to ensure timely availability and plan adherence.

Cross‑Functional Alignment & Communication (10%)

Partner with Sales to provide visibility into availability, constraints, and recovery timelines for purchased products. Collaborate with Product/Marketing on new product introductions (NPI), promotional programs, lifecycle transitions, and end‑of‑life planning. Coordinate with Procurement on supplier performance, lead times, and capacity assumptions (without negotiating pricing or sourcing decisions). Provide clear communication to Customer Service, Finance, and Distribution regarding supply status and inventory risks.

Process

& Systems Improvement (5%)

Develop, maintain, and improve ERP/MRP planning processes, including data accuracy and parameter governance. Drive continuous improvement in planning efficiency, service performance, and inventory optimization. Support or lead supply chain initiatives requiring planning expertise, analytics, or cross‑functional coordination.
