General Maintenance Worker St. Cecilia Catholic Church

The General Maintenance Worker is a fill-time position who will performs general maintenance, repairs, cleaning, and facility setup to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, responding to safety concerns, and maintaining tools, equipment, and vehicles.

• Perform general repairs and maintenance, including basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, and roofing tasks.
• Clean and maintain buildings, classrooms, grounds, and other facilities.
• Set up furniture and equipment for meetings, events, and activities.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Assist with facility projects, work orders, and equipment installation.
• Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and assigned vehicles in safe working condition.
• Respond to emergencies, including after-hours situations, as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Texas driver's license and evidence of insurability.
• Ability to pass required alcohol and drug testing and the Archdiocesan background check.

• Basic knowledge of building maintenance, repairs, cleaning, and facility operations.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, equipment, and church vehicles.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, hazardous material handling, and applicable OSHA requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, flexibility, and ability to work effectively with staff and facility users.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and after hours as needed. Regular schedule is Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.

Work is performed in office, classroom, and facility environments. Requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, and use of hands. Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
