Purpose of Position

The Assistant Director of Admissions Processing supervises and coordinates admissions processing operations to support institutional enrollment goals. This position provides leadership for admissions processing staff, oversees daily operational workflows, supports process improvement initiatives, and ensures accurate and timely application processing in compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions
  • Serves as a member of the admissions processing leadership team and collaborates with the Director on operational strategies, planning, and initiatives that support enrollment goals and admissions processing efficiency.
  • Provides direct supervision to admissions processing staff, including assigning and prioritizing work, approving leave, conducting performance evaluations, coaching and training employees, interviewing candidates, and making hiring recommendations while promoting service excellence.
  • Oversees day-to-day admissions processing operations, including mail processing, test scores, application fees, workflow monitoring, and accurate and timely processing of applications and supporting documentation.
  • Supports online program and One Stop initiatives by coordinating admissions processing workflows, providing training and operational guidance, and implementing processes that promote effective student service delivery and enrollment growth.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, documentation, and continuous improvement of admissions processing procedures, operational workflows, training materials, standard operating procedures, and related system testing to ensure compliance with institutional policies.
  • Collaborates with Enrollment Management offices and campus departments to support admissions operations, student services, institutional initiatives, and consistent communication with students and campus partners.
  • Resolves escalated processing issues, student concerns, and complex application cases with professionalism, sound judgment, and a focus on operational effectiveness and continuous improvement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in higher education admissions, enrollment services, or a related high-volume office environment to include one (1) year of supervisory experience; OR seven (7) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supervising staff in a higher education admissions or enrollment environment.
  • Knowledge of student information systems, CRM platforms, and document imaging systems such as People Soft SIS, Slate CRM, and Perceptive Content.
  • Experience with admissions processing operations, residency determination, and enrollment management practices.
  • Experience analyzing workflows, implementing process improvements, and working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of admissions processing operations, enrollment management practices, and university policies and procedures related to admissions.
  • Ability to analyze processes, interpret reports and operational data, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, including the ability to train, mentor, and evaluate staff.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, initiative, and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work performed.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
