Material Handler

Position Summary

The Material Handler contributes to Joern’s daily inbound and outbound warehouse operations and does related work as assigned.

• Prepares shipping orders and moves materials by operating material handling equipment.
• Verifies that all orders are filled, packaged and processed correctly.
• Responsible for transaction accuracy.
• Load and unload shipments from trucks.
• Check in, put away, and systematic receipt of inbound shipments.
• Responsible for following all applicable safety/housekeeping guidelines.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.

High school diploma or equivalent

• Must be forklift certified or have the ability to be forklift certified.
• Must be detail oriented.
• 3-5 years' previous warehouse experience.

• Familiar with Lean Manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of computer applications.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Ability to solve problems in a practical manner.
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
