Summary

Manufacturing Technicians perform a variety of assembly types, including mechanical, electrical, and electro‑mechanical. The individual must be willing to travel to both CONUS and OCONUS sites and also to areas of the world that are eligible for hazard pay.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs a variety of non‑routine and non‑repetitive production assembly operations on electronic assemblies, mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, including cable assemblies and wiring harnesses.

  • Working with common hand and power tools, jigs, and saws.

  • Printed Circuit Board (PCB) component level soldering skills.

  • Determines methods and sequences of assembly/integration operations when complete information may not be readily available.

  • Utilizes engineering sketches, diagrams, schematics and drawings.

  • Fabricates, assembles, modifies, and/or reworks subassemblies and assemblies, and integrates system hardware.

  • Participates in device teardown, removal, and part of site installation team requiring travel to field installation sites, possibly overseas, for six to eight weeks at a time.

  • Possible shift work involved at various times, including swing, second and/or third shift.

  • Works overtime as required or requested, possibly on a regular basis for extended periods.

  • Uses Microsoft Office Word and Microsoft Office Excel.

  • Closes applicable Manufacturing Order (MO) routing steps on both the hardcopy MO and in Deltek Costpoint®, and generates Nonconforming Material Reports (NMRs) as applicable.

  • Assists in collecting data for Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) on issues discovered during assembly, build, or integration processes.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • High school diploma minimum, with applicable experience in electrical/mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with engineering sketches, diagrams, schematics, and drawings.

  • Experience with common hand and power tools, jigs, and saws.

  • Team‑first/teamwork attitude.

  • Current passport desired at start and required for overseas travel when scheduled.

  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend for long periods and lift forty‑fifty pounds with no limitations; climb ladders as needed.

  • Must have a current DoD Secret security clearance, or be within a 24‑month window of the last clearance.

  • Shift: Day‑1st; may require swing/second shift on an as‑needed basis.

  • Travel:
    Likely up to 75‑80% of the time.

  • Only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials in any form, and for not divulging any information or granting access to other employees without a need‑to‑know. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company‑provided resources.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a subassembly shop, final assembly labs, and customer sites. All areas are climate controlled; however, individuals may need to work outside in the elements.

Physical Demands
  • Work for long periods standing, stooping, and bending; lift forty‑fifty pounds without limitations.

  • Climb ladders and work at heights as needed.

  • Work overtime as required.
