Position Overview:

The Assembler will be part of a team focused on executing tasks related to the assembly of metal building structures and industrial control panels. This may include erecting walls, installing roof trusses and doors, as well as the physical layout, mounting, wiring, and testing of control panels according to schematics and build prints.

The successful candidate must be comfortable being part of a team, working with both mechanical and electrical components, be able to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics, and have a solid understanding of basic electrical principles. Proficiency with a wide range of hand and power tools is essential. Some heavy lifting may be required.

  • Prevent warranty returns originating from your area of responsibility by maintaining robust quality standards, fully adhering to manufacturing processes and procedures, and taking timely corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Coordination
  • Train new employees on assembly steps, quality requirements, tools, equipment and safety procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts around processes, tooling, and workflow.
  • Resolve or elevate production issues.
  • Address or elevate risks and opportunities.
Assembly
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, BOMs, fabrication prints and layout drawings.
  • Assemble enclosures per instructions.
  • Dimensionally lay out back panels and externally mounted devices.
  • Mount devices to back panels and enclosures using a variety of methods including drilling and tapping steel.
  • Fit and align doors, latches, hinges, handles and mechanical hardware.
  • Operate computerized terminal, wire labeling and engraving equipment.
  • Wire panel devices according to provided electrical schematics.
  • Route and bundle wires and cables neatly and according to established electrical standards.
Quality and Compliance
  • Inspect assemblies for fit, alignment, cosmetic quality, and conformance with drawings.
  • Ensure all work adheres to REV quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Address NCR’s rework, and quality issues in collaboration with QA/QC.
  • Keep red-lines of any changes required during manufacturing and turn in to supervisor on completion of the project.
HSE
  • Compliance with safety procedures, PPE requirements, and lock-out protocol.
  • Use hand tools, torque tools, pneumatic tools and shop equipment safely and correctly.
  • Participate in safety audits, hazard assessments, and toolbox meetings.
  • Report hazards, incidents, and near-misses promptly.
Production Workflow
  • Maintain organized work areas, parts staging, and assembly stations.
  • Communicate material shortages or drawing issues to Assembly Lead.
  • Provide feedback to Assembly Lead on design or manufacturability issues.
  • Participate on pre-build meetings to understand project scope and special requirements.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by your manager to ensure REV’s goals and objectives are met.
  • Performs all duties so as to meet the responsibilities listed in REV’s Safety and Human Resources Policy Manual.
  • Performs duties according to REV’s quality system procedures and work instructions.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with mechanical/building and/or wiring assembly, preferably electrical distribution equipment (switch gear, MCC’s, control panels, enclosures).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret mechanical and basic electrical drawings.
  • Experience working with fabricated metal components and precision fit-up.
  • Knowledge of torque specifications, mechanical fasteners, and assembly techniques.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of electricity and electrical circuits.
  • Ability to read a tape measure (both standard and metric).
  • Previous experience and knowledge of operating hand and power tools.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Forklift, overhead crane, and picker truck experience is considered an asset.
