The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright) is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems in a high‑precision glass manufacturing environment for medical devices. This role ensures equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and supports operational efficiency while adhering to strict safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize production equipment and facility systems in a high‑precision glass manufacturing environment.
  • Lead troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on precision glass manufacturing equipment.
  • Inspect, install, tension, and maintain belt systems (timing, V‑belts, flat belts, etc.) to ensure optimal performance and prevent premature wear or slippage.
  • Inspect, lubricate, adjust, and replace chains and sprockets; ensure proper alignment and tension to maintain efficient power transmission and reduce downtime.
  • Install, align, inspect, and maintain various gearbox types; perform oil changes, seal replacements, and troubleshoot noise, vibration, or overheating issues.
  • Perform precise alignment of belts, chains, shafts, motors, pumps, and gearboxes using dial indicators or laser alignment tools to minimize vibration, wear, and energy loss.
  • Diagnose, disassemble, rebuild, and reinstall pumps; ensure proper flow, pressure, and seal integrity for system reliability.
  • Identify bearing types, conduct proper installation, lubrication, and replacement; ensure smooth operation and prevent premature bearing failure.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain cylinders, rams, valves, and pumps; diagnose pressure or flow issues and ensure system integrity and safety.
  • Safely set up and use rigging equipment such as chains, slings, and hoists; follow crane hand signals and safety protocols for lifting and moving equipment or tooling.
  • Safely operate forklifts, aerial boom lifts (JLG/Genie), and scissor lifts in compliance with site safety standards to support maintenance, installation, and facility work.
  • Perform basic fabrication, repair, and modification of metal parts and tooling components; maintain quality and safety during welding operations (welding certification highly desired).
  • Select appropriate fasteners, ensure correct torque application, and follow manufacturer specifications to maintain mechanical integrity.
  • Safely and effectively operate drills, grinders, impact tools, and saws during fabrication, assembly, and maintenance tasks.
  • Select and apply the correct lubricants for bearings, pumps, motors, gearboxes, fans, and couplings to ensure reliability and reduce wear.
  • Conduct routine inspections, document findings, and perform scheduled maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and extend component life.
  • Operate, inspect, and maintain conveyor systems; troubleshoot drive components, sensors, and belt tracking to ensure consistent material flow and system uptime.
  • Familiarity with reliability fundamentals such as infrared (IR), vibration analysis (VA), and oil analysis preferred but not required.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspections, preventive maintenance, and necessary repairs on facility systems, minimizing downtime and coordinating outside technicians when required.
  • Train and mentor new employees on proper machine and facility maintenance practices.
  • Follow all OSHA and other safety guidelines.
  • Perform all other duties as required.

Salary: $29.69–$36.00 per hour, Monday–Friday with some weekend overtime.
