Key Responsibilities- Supervise daily operations on the injection molding floor, ensuring adherence to schedules and production targets.
- Manage production processes, including documentation and troubleshooting.
- Lead and mentor personnel, providing guidance to team members.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Engage in Continuous Improvement efforts, including 5S, 5 Whys, and 8-D documentation.
- Train team members on process steps and requirements, including paperwork, training sheets, skill matrix maintenance, and other job-related training.
- Foster a positive work environment by demonstrating teamwork and actively participating in team activities.
- Employ problem-solving skills to overcome challenges and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow company policies, including Work Plant Rules and Work Safety Rules, while ensuring compliance with safety, health, and operational standards.
- Promote and ensure adherence to safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and reporting unsafe conditions or accidents. Ensure a safe working environment for all team members, including forklift operators and clerks.
- Perform daily cross-functional tasks in your assigned department according to established procedures and work guidance.
- Support and participate in lean and continuous improvement programs and initiatives.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all work areas in alignment with 5S standards.
- Maintain professionalism when using radios, PA systems, and phones for business communication.
- Assist with additional duties as needed, as directed by the Materials Manager or supervisor.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or minimum 5 years’ experience in a related field required.
- Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in PC knowledge.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, self‑directed, detail‑oriented, reliable, and strong initiative.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Adherence to safe work procedures and use of personal protective equipment at all times.
- Certification to operate a crane/hoist.
- Must pass background check and drug screen.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Professionalism and respect in all interactions.
- Ability to motivate team members and lead by example.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. routinely and stand for long periods.
- Ability to troubleshoot and explain problems to designated departments.
- Must be able to stand or sit for 8-12 hours a day, with occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to perform overhead work and work below the waist, as needed.
- Must be able to move and operate materials with a forklift, as well as assist with loading/unloading tasks.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection and other task‑specific safety equipment.
- Strong, proactive leadership skills with a focus on safety and operational efficiency.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead a team and interact with other departments, customers, and suppliers.
- Ability to address operational issues quickly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to workflows.
- Flexibility to handle dynamic changes in workload and priorities, especially during peak periods.
- Commitment to maintaining accurate records, managing inventory, and ensuring smooth material handling processes.
