Under the direction of the Quality & Safety Manager, the QC Technician oversees packaging operations and manages hourly and temporary employees to ensure the production of the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards for quality and performance. The role adheres to customer specifications and delivery requirements, and operates in accordance with Pregis policies and procedures.
OverviewThe QA Inspector ensures constant quality monitoring during production, maintains continuous product quality, and guides workflow by monitoring packaging workforce’s quality inspections and packaging process. The role performs inspections at prescribed intervals, documents results across multiple production lines, and assists employees to perform duties correctly and operate at or above designated run speeds.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Perform and document hourly inspections and run profiles, retain samples per Ever Tec SOPs.
- Monitor mailer production for defects and inaccuracies per Ever Tec quality standards; correct and report non‑conformities and initiate hold procedures when needed, in collaboration with Team Lead and Shift Supervisor.
- Train Packers on Ever Tec Quality Assurance SOP and regularly audit to ensure inspections are performed.
- Work with Packaging Team Lead and Operations to resolve issues per Ever Tec QA SOPs.
- Communicate effectively with upcoming shift to ensure smooth hand‑off and maintain open dialogue to minimize delays.
- Identify raw material defects, capture relevant information (lot codes, samples, etc.) and forward to Quality Manager.
- Effective verbal and written communication;
Spanish bilingual a plus. - Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
- Ability to follow standardized work instructions and understand detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and read a ruler, scale, and micrometer.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment focusing on quality.
- Availability to work overtime as needed and on weekends based upon business needs.

- High school education or equivalent technical school preferred.
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment and/or inspection role preferred.
- Knowledge of packaging production SOPs and quality standards a plus.
