Position SummaryIn addition to CMM level I skills, level two CMM inspectors demonstrate an expert ability to operate CMM scanners, produce reports and recommend corrective actions to manufacturing and production personnel, ability to program CMM scanners and laser trackers, as well as develop inspection processes and inspection tooling.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities

! - Using engineering drawings, specifications, etc. for reference, inspect detailed machined parts and/or assemblies for conformity to design parameters. Indicate acceptance or rejection on production documentation
- Perform monitoring and measuring device calibrations as assigned
- Perform complex part setups
- Conduct CMM and laser tracker inspection of parts
- Ability to interpret CMM and laser tracker results and recommend actions
- Maintaining working knowledge of PC DMIS CMM inspection software
- Complete final inspection and AS9102 first article inspection sheets as required documenting product conformity.
- Maintain a working knowledge of quality assurance procedure requirements as they apply to inspection and manufacturing operations.
- Document nonconforming product as required by internal and/or customer requirements.
- Interpret customer feedback of dispositions.
- Ensure that tooling used as media of acceptance remain calibrated according to internal and/or customer requirements.
- Ensure that product/material conformity documentation received from subcontractors satisfies engineering specifications
- Ensure correct material handling, identification and traceability of product throughout the manufacturing sequence.
- Perform all functions of a Quality Control Inspector as required by workload and production schedule needs
- Maintaining regular and punctual attendance according to shift-times or a pre-arranged work schedule
- Interpretation of advanced CMM and Laser tracker data and ability to troubleshoot basic (mechanical issues, probe malfunctions, faulty connections, software errors, machine configuration) CMM and laser tracker hardware.
- Aid in RCCA investigations and ICAB meetings.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
- Experience in machining shop with various aluminum alloys, steel and titanium is strongly desired.
- Advanced competencies in mechanical inspection techniques
- Knowledge of OSHA-compliant shop safety practices is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in required software; CATIA, PC-DMIS, Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Advanced interpretation of drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- PC DMIS or comparable software
- CMM and laser tracker programming
- Evidence of successfully performing level one CMM inspector tasks in the aerospace industry for at least four years.
- 5+ years of experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- May be required to move items up to 35 pounds.
- Daily duties may require sitting, standing, bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling, operating, and manipulating hand tools.
- Daily duties may require extended duration of walking.
- Exposed to a Manufacturing setting with heavy machinery.
The targeted compensation range is $20.00/hr - $26.00/hr, commensurate with experience.
