Job Title: Packaging Coordinator
Reports To: Shift Supervisor
Department: Mailer Production
Shift: 6:00AM-6:00PM or 6:00PM-6:00AM on a 2-2-3 Rotating Schedule
Summary Of Job: Under the direction of Pressroom supervision, oversees packaging operations along with hourly and temporary employees to ensure the production of the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards for quality and performance. Adheres to customer specifications and delivery requirements, while working in accordance with Pregis policies and procedures.
OverviewTo ensure constant quality monitoring during production. Coordinates workflow by monitoring packaging work force. Helps packaging employees in the department perform their duties correctly. Helping to operate at or above designated run speeds using the identified lean personnel packaging model provided in the training procedures. Ensures QC protocols are followed diligently by coordinating the efforts of the Pregis material packers.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities- Verify that all SAP materials are correct and accounted for on all jobs based on the envelope format being produced and as instructed by the line operator.
- Monitor all jobs for manufacturing defects and report any non-conformance issues.
- Monitor packaging for SOP defects, correct and report all non-conformance issues.
- Coordinate and monitor efforts of all packers around quality monitoring, QC testing, and hourly pulls.
- Monitor and give direction to material packers in cooperation with supervision.
- Ensure all shifts monitor and coordinate required job rotations of material packers ensuring rotations at a minimum of every 2 hours.
- Work with supervision and Quality Assurance to monitor and ensure break times are completed fairly and appropriately according to Pregis employee handbook. Breaks should be handled in a fashion that does not hinder production or put undue burden on other employees.
- Work with supervision and around manning schedules and overtime allocations. Ensure that overtime is delegated equitably and fairly.
- Print labels when needed and maintain pallet flags as required.
- Maintain an open dialogue with supervision and other employees to minimize delays.
- Update upcoming shift so information is passed on accurately.
- Maintain a clean working environment.
- Assist in creating an environment of improved performance with an attention to quality and concern for customer satisfaction.
- Strive for continuous improvement.
- Ensure packaging employees comply with all standard operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all Pregis safety standards.
- Must have a strong “sense of urgency”.
- Must be able to troubleshoot and resolve problem issues.
- Highly organized, having the ability to plan and schedule accordingly.
- Strong delegation skill.
- Demonstrates leadership skills that facilitate teamwork and foster a cohesive work environment.
- The ability to work with a team and create a cohesive atmosphere.
- Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.

- Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environment.

- 3‑5 years’ experience in a leadership role preferred, but will consider comparable industry experience.
