Lead CNC Machinist
This role is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating both CNC press brake equipment and CNC laser cutting machines to produce precise, high‑quality metal components. The operator interprets detailed blueprints, performs full machine changeovers, and ensures accurate first‑article production across forming and cutting operations. They maintain safe work practices, troubleshoot equipment issues, and uphold strict quality and efficiency standards in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to manage both machines independently are essential.
- Set up, program, and operate CNC press brake equipment and CNC laser cutting machines.
- Interpret detailed blueprints for precise metal component production.
- Perform full machine changeovers and ensure accurate first‑article production.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and uphold safety standards.
- Maintain high quality and efficiency standards in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in laser cutting and CNC programming.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and perform inspections.
- Skilled in troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in laser/brake press operations.
- Experience in sheet metal, mechanical, and electrical domains.
Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with metal fabrication processes including press brakes, saws, and weld stations.
- Ability to identify common metal types and thicknesses.
- Understanding of warehouse organization and inventory management.
- Knowledge of sheet metal types, bend allowances, and tooling selection.
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
