Material Handler​/Sit-down Forklift

Position Summary

Maintain production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies, staging, and loading finished product. Perform general duties including handling all incoming and outgoing inventory for manufacturing, including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving material. Ensure all production areas are clear, stocked, and ready to fulfill orders.

1. Operate sit-down forklift as required to support manufacturing

2. Pull/transfer coils and sheets and complete appropriate packaging per the specifications of each order

3. Load and unload will-call customers, LTL vans and flatbed trucks with forklift (includes palleted coils & sheets, load customer equipment and maintain / log all shipments)

4. Count, record, and report inventory as required including but not limited to sheet, coil, and accessories

5. Report defective or substandard material, supplies or products

6. Represent the Company professionally in all daily interactions with customers, freight personnel and other employees

7. Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product

8. Document product shipments by recording or verifying units shipped or received as required

9. Maintain material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and reporting any deficiencies found

10. Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory

11. Maintain in-process inventory at work centers by delivering materials and supplies

12. Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders

13. Able to be flexible and respond to the changing needs of the organization, including working overtime as required

14. Comply with all safety rules and regulations

15. Other duties as assigned
