Registered Nurse Operating Room Circulator - UnitUnder the direct supervision of the Operating Room Coordinator and the OR Director, the RN is responsible for nursing activities related to the care of the patient experiencing an operative or other invasive procedure. The RN is a resource person and provides guidance to non-licensed personnel. The RN can expect to care for adult patients, including the older adult through geriatric and some pediatric patients.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care for patients undergoing operative or invasive procedures under the supervision of the OR leadership.
- Serve as a resource person and guide non-licensed personnel.
- Care for adult patients, including older adults, geriatric, and some pediatric patients.
- Follow the established criteria-based performance evaluation related to age-specific competency.
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensure/Certification:
- Current Texas Nursing License.
- Current CPR, ACLS
- PALS preferred
Required Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) previous OR experience required; hospital setting preferred.
- Experience in ortho and spine required.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
- Ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employees.
- Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures specific to operating room nursing.
- Clinically proficient in operating room nursing skills with knowledge of developmental needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
