Overview
Outpatient Surgery Nurse Manager. Medical City Arlington, a 435+ bed full-service hospital, is seeking a Nurse Manager to oversee the Outpatient Surgery unit. The Nurse Manager will be responsible for the 24-hour supervision, coordination, and evaluation of nursing care provided within the Outpatient Surgery unit.
Responsibilities- Maintain 24-hour responsibility for the supervision, coordination, and evaluation of nursing care provided on the assigned unit.
- Coordinate and supervise unit activities to support the safe and efficient delivery of care.
- Assist the Director in the implementation of Performance Improvement activities.
- Support the implementation of hospital policies and procedures.
- Assist in the financial management of the unit.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- 2+ years of recent acute care leadership experience.
- 3-5 years of experience as a staff nurse in the operating room or other surgical area.
- Current Texas RN License or RN Compact State License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor. If currently have ACLS it must be maintained; if not, it must be obtained within 6 months of hire and then maintained.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor. If currently have PALS it must be maintained; if not, it must be obtained within 6 months of hire and then maintained.
- Prior management experience or demonstrated ability to serve in a leadership role.
- Cardiovascular experience.
- Strong clinical skills in surgical services.
- Proficiency in operating room procedures and protocols.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to problem-solve and make critical decisions.
- Knowledge of performance improvement principles.
- Understanding of financial management within a healthcare setting.
- Shift Details:
Day Shift (12 hours) | 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM | 3 days/week - Assignment Dates: to
- Contract Length: 13 weeks | Weekend Rotation:
Rotating Weekends - Licensing Requirements:
Texas RN License or RN Compact State License.
