Medical City Arlington - Red Oak Free Standing ER ER Registered Nurse - Full Time, Nights

As a Registered Nurse in the Free‑Standing Emergency Dept, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn – whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You'll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Job Summary & Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.”

The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

  • Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
  • Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
  • Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow‑up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
  • Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non‑medicinal follow‑up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self‑management.
What Qualifications You Will Need
  • Associate’s degree required; BSN preferred. BSN will be required within 3 years of employment.
  • Registered RN license, eligible to practice in the state of TX, required.
  • Current BLS and ACLS upon hire (AHA or ARC).
  • ENPC, TNCC, PALS required within 6 months of hire.
  • Minimum two years’ nursing experience preferred. Emergency room clinical experience preferred.
