• Rounding with unit leaders, including charge nurses, to ensure staff voice is heard.
• On‑call required during select non‑business hours.

• Evaluate patients before surgery.
• Provide patient and family education regarding procedures and peri‑operative care.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including IV therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification: briefing, time‑out, debriefing, and universal protocols per hospital policy.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care while managing evidence‑based practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with a dynamic interdisciplinary team—providers, surgeons, surgical technologists, and others.
• Consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to independently provide safe nursing care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes and care provided thoroughly.
• Educate patients and family/caregivers about medical condition, treatment, and follow‑up measures.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
