Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Medical City Arlington

Shift: Full-Time, Mixed Shift (with rotating weekends).

A sign‑on bonus of up to $25,000 may be available.

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.”

The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and strives to anticipate and resolve patient needs proactively.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self‑management through education on healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and other lifestyle changes.

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiovascular Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 6 months of employment start date.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within 18 months of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Care (ENPC) or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months of employment start date.
• Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or higher in Nursing.
• No travel required.
