Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Work location: Texas Health Heart and Vascular Hospital, 811 Wright Street, Arlington, TX 76012
Work hours: Monday - Friday; 3 (12-hour) shifts,
HighlightsTexas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital is an independently licensed, 47-bed facility with a 20-bed Cardiovascular ICU and a 27-bed cardiac telemetry unit. Accredited for Chest Pain and awarded AHA Gold Plus for Heart Failure for three consecutive years.
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree, graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Master's Degree, graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred.
- RN - Registered Nurse is required upon hire.
- APRN - Advanced Practice Nurse is required upon hire.
- ACNP - Acute Care Nurse Practitioner is required upon hire.
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required.
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required within 90 days of hire.
A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and the ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
ResponsibilitiesDelivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
- Assessment/Plan of Care/Technical Skill: utilizes principles and skills in communication and interviewing techniques to obtain a comprehensive health history, formulate a plan of care, and make decisions for appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Uses principles and skills in advanced health assessment for differentiating normal and abnormal findings.
- Synthesizes knowledge of physiology, pathophysiology, culture, and socioeconomics to access, evaluate, and provide therapeutic interventions to patients.
- Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to improve care processes and promote continuity of care.
- Initiates actions to meet patients/families' needs.
- Takes actions to reduce patients' risks.
- Performs specialty specific technical procedures safely and proficiently.
