Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Infusion Oncology RN, Arlington, TX location. This is a full‑time Monday‑Friday position (8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) with no weekends, calls, or major holidays.

Responsibilities

What does the Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) do?

Under minimal supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients, adhering to national and company standards and guidelines. The RN demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental variations across the patient population, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team for assessment and therapeutic management of patient/family needs, and supports the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under physician direction and supervision.
  • Administer all medications/blood products using correct dosage, route, time, and technique.
  • Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to therapy administration where applicable.
  • Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient and labs, consulting protocols or treatment plans, calculating dose, and consulting physicians regarding dosage modifications, problems, and symptom management.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
  • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited professional nursing education program; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum 0–3 years of RN experience.
  • Willing to consider entry, mid, or senior level candidate.
  • Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Working Conditions

The work environment may expose employees to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.

Physical Requirements

Requires full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extensive periods, occasional lifting of items up to 40 lbs, and corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
