Position Overview

Occupational Health Registered Nurse needed for a 3rd shift, per-diem contract opportunity with a well-known manufacturing client located in Arlington, TX. Clinic is open Monday–Saturday, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. The main need for this opening is 3rd shift, weekends, with additional flexibility required for the rest of the week.

Provide emergency care, first aid, and episodic treatment of occupational injuries and illnesses within standing orders. Responsible for preventing illness and injury, protecting from work-related and environmental hazards, and promoting and restoring health. Maintain accurate records related to OSHA, Workers’ Compensation, and corporate reporting.

Schedule / Shift Details
  • 1st shift: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm
  • 2nd shift: 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm (Saturdays 2:00 pm – 12:00 am)
  • 3rd shift (main need): 10:00 pm – 6:30 am

Shifts are made at least 2 months in advance typically.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Active/unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a nurse in an occupational health, employee health, emergency medicine, urgent care, internal medicine, corrections, school nursing, and/or family practice setting
  • Flexible, adaptable, reliable, friendly, and helpful employee
  • High level of initiative and sound independent judgment
Responsibilities
  • Assessment, triage, treatment, and education for sick or injured employees
  • Promote wellness and wellbeing initiatives at the site
  • Provide medical testing such as drug screens, vision testing, pulmonary function, blood glucose, blood pressure, cholesterol, and perform limited interpretation of tests
  • Interface with health services customers in a knowledgeable and professional manner
  • Charting/documentation of care using EMR system (Cority)
  • Assist plant physician in minor surgical procedures
  • Respond to medical emergencies on the campus as needed
What You Need to Bring
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 4 shifts per month and at least 1 Saturday shift; full flexibility to work 0–5 shifts per week depending on business needs, with heavy focus on weekend and 2nd/3rd shift work
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Computer skills with previous experience using EMR;
    Cority experience a plus
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
