Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - ADULT/GERO Day Shift

Responsibilities

Millwood Hospital (a UHS Facility) is a 134‑bed mental health facility that provides inpatient, outpatient mental health, and chemical dependency treatment to children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults. The Staff Nurse (R.N.) is a registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and standards of care.

Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations:
Week 1:
Monday – Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Week 2:
Monday – Wednesday (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM)

Work Hours:

Day shift – rotating 12‑hour shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM). Weekends required (days vary).

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required;
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred.

Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.

Additional Requirements: CPR certification and training in appropriate use of seclusion and restraint before working with patients; successful completion of CPI training and Service Excellence Training before working with patients. Certifications may be obtained during new hire orientation.
