Pre/Op Registered Nurse – Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital – Arlington

Under the direct supervision of the Pre‑op/PACU Director, the registered nurse will implement pre‑anesthesia care records, nursing care plans, and the assimilation of patient hospital records. Responsibilities include executing all physician orders, ensuring continuity and quality nursing care, evaluating patient condition continuously, and providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy while assisting physicians during procedures.

• Implement the Pre Anesthesia Care record and nursing care plan.
• Assimilate the patient’s hospital record and execute all physician orders.
• Provide continuous evaluation of patient condition, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation and sterile technique as required.

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Texas Nursing License.
• Current CPR and ACLS certification; PALS preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of hospital experience; 2 years critical‑care experience preferred.
• Pre‑Op PACU experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication and teaching skills.
• Good organizational habits and ability to adapt quickly.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical patient management.
• Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics.
• Basic knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles.
