Registered Nurse Pre Admission Testing

Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital – Arlington – Full Time Registered Nurse (Pre-Admission Testing)

We are seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse for our Pre-Admission Testing team to support patients undergoing orthopedic and spine procedures with a focus on patient safety, quality of care and efficiency.

• Under the direct supervision of the Director of Pre‑op/PACU/PAT/Pain and the Charge Nurse of Pre‑Admissions, the nurse implements the Pre‑Op holding record (patients’ medical record) and assimilates the patients’ hospital record.
• The pre‑admission nurse implements the nursing process, performs required pre‑op testing, and ensures continuity and quality of nursing care for patients.

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensure/Certification: Current Texas Nursing License;
  Current CPR, ACLS preferred.
• Required Experience: Minimum of one (1) year’s experience in a hospital setting; 2 years Critical Care experience preferred;
  Pre‑Op PACU experience strongly preferred;
  Excellent communication skills;
  Good organization habits;
  Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base of surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient;
  Understands principles of aseptic technique and its implementation;
  Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics;
  Excellent teaching skills;
  Basic knowledge of continuous quality improvement ideology.
