As a Registered Nurse in our Med/Surg department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with department requirements and state standards. You will collaborate with medical providers and the care team to provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care while advocating for patients, families, and caregivers. You will embody the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities- Assess the patient’s condition during admission and at each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient’s medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
- Respond promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipate patient needs, and resolve them.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate Degree (or higher) in Nursing;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. - One or more years of high acuity patient care experience preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Familiarity with the “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage” nursing model.
