Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our behavioral health team. In this role, you will provide exceptional nursing care to children, adolescents, and adults in a therapeutic environment while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support patient recovery and treatment goals.

Essential Responsibilities
Clinical Excellence
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to behavioral health patients.
  • Perform nursing assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify interventions as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including daily nursing notes.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other clinical staff to implement treatment plans and measurable goals.
Leadership & Patient Advocacy
  • Foster a safe, therapeutic environment that promotes healing and protects patient rights.
  • Establish professional and supportive relationships with patients, families, and team members.
  • Participate actively in treatment team meetings and care coordination efforts.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource to fellow nursing staff.
  • Advocate for patient needs while maintaining the highest standards of care and safety.
Qualifications
Required
  • Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to practice under a compact license.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong communication, assessment, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to delivering patient-centered care.
Preferred
  • Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, or pediatric nursing.
  • Previous inpatient psychiatric care experience.
  • Knowledge of mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and treatment planning.
Schedule
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Day Shift: 6:45 AM-7:15 PM
  • Night Shift: 6:45 PM- 7:15 AM
