Our stores are focused on relationships, not just transactions. As a Service Team Member, you will deliver a neighborhood‑friendly shopping experience and drive sales results through excellent service, cashier duties, and floor merchandising.
Responsibilities- Greet customers with a friendly smile and make eye contact, handling multiple customers simultaneously.
- Answer questions about merchandise and help customers make informed buying decisions.
- Lead customers to appropriate merchandise, provide options, and share features and benefits.
- Resolve customer concerns or complaints, escalating to management when necessary.
- Treat all associates and customers with respect.
- Assume responsibility for the cash in the register and balance the register at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Adhere to company cash‑handling policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean register area, free of returns, and stocked with operating supplies.
- Perform sales support functions related to POS procedures.
- Handle returns courteously and professionally with assistance from management.
- Contribute to the achievement of store sales goals.
- Offer WSS Loyalty membership to all customers.
- Unload and process shipments in a timely manner.
- Maintain stock levels, execute price changes, and conduct merchandise floor moves as needed.
- Execute and maintain visual product presentation standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean working environment and comply with all safety, rules, and regulations.
- Adhere to all loss‑prevention policies and procedures.
- Constant movement, talking, reaching, grabbing, standing for at least two consecutive hours; may involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. from ground level to above shoulders repeatedly.
- Stand or walk at least eight hours each day.
- Climb a step stool or ladder.
- Communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management in person and over the telephone.
- Basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to make change in U.S. currency.
- Ability to multi‑task, remain attentive to customers, and adapt to business needs.
- Teamwork and initiative independent of direct supervision.
- Enthusiastic, friendly, energetic with a genuine desire to provide exceptional service.
- Availability to work a variety of hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be 18 years or older with a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous retail, hospitality, or customer service experience is a plus.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Self‑motivated and able to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight shifts.
