• Read and write Spanish/English, interact with the general public and co‑workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

• Basic PC/Outlook skills

Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and conducts various tasks within the bakery. The position includes:

• Providing friendly, courteous, and helpful service to customers with bakery purchases.
• Cleansing and rotating self‑serve displays both in the front of the store and adjacent to the bakery.
• Working with customers to take special orders and with the Baker to determine items needing baking or decoration.
• Assisting in department cleaning by hosing down floors with soap and water to maintain cleanliness.
• Maintaining a fast‑paced grocery store environment, meeting physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking, kneeling, and visual and auditory requirements.
• Possessing a Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification, which is required for all positions related to the preparation, handling, and serving of food.
