Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Mechanical Installer to support installation, replacement, and servicing of HVAC systems in commercial facilities
. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with Rooftop Units (RTUs), split systems, HPAC systems, ductwork, refrigeration piping, and mechanical equipment installation
, with a strong understanding of safety procedures and jobsite professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, replace, and set commercial HVAC systems
, including RTUs, split systems, and packaged units - Perform installation of HPAC (High Precision Air Conditioning) systems and components
- Install mechanical equipment including:
- Air handlers
- Condensers
- Exhaust fans
- VAV boxes
- Ductwork and dampers
- Run and connect refrigeration piping (copper), including brazing and soldering
- Perform startup assistance
, pressure testing, evacuation, and refrigerant charging support - Ensure all work meets local mechanical codes
, blueprints, and project specifications - Read and interpret:
- Blueprints
- Mechanical schedules
- Piping schematics
- Equipment submittals
- Work with other trades to coordinate installation schedules and jobsite logistics
- Follow all safety standards including PPE and lockout/tagout when required
- Maintain clean, organized work areas on active public facilities
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of commercial HVAC installation experience (preferred)
- Experience installing RTUs, ductwork, refrigeration lines, and mechanical piping
- Knowledge of EPA guidelines and refrigerant handling
- EPA 608 Certification (Required)
- Familiar with commercial HVAC systems including HPAC and refrigeration systems
- Ability to work from ladders, lifts, rooftops, and confined spaces
- Strong understanding of tools, materials, and mechanical installation methods
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on school districts, municipal buildings, or government projects
- Familiarity with BAS controls rough‑in and HVAC electrical coordination
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience operating scissor lifts, boom lifts, and forklifts
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs
- Comfortable working in outdoor environments, rooftops, and mechanical rooms
- Ability to stand, kneel, crawl, and climb for extended periods
