Electric METER Technician - DFW area

Job Location: DFW - Grand Prairie, TX 75050
Title: TMD Electric Meter Technician

Under the general direction of the Electric Meter Installation Project Manager, the Electric Meter Technician will be exchanging residential class electric meters.

• Exchange residential class electric meters
• Use a work order management system to capture site data
• Maintain accurate records of work completed
• Oversee the materials, equipment, vehicle, and tools
• Keep track of new and used inventory
• Record addresses, GPS, and meter information
• Verify proper installation/transmission of new meter data by utilizing tablet PC, handheld equipment, or smartphone
• Manage daily client communications, data, and reporting
• Coordinate scheduling and meet quality/quantity requirements
• Provide excellence in internal and external customer service by creating a positive experience for customers, end users, and communities through professional and courteous behavior and producing high quality results
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or necessary

• Must reside in the project area
• Mechanical aptitude is necessary
• Ability to use hand‑held devices and other equipment as required for the position
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to stand, bend, or stoop for prolonged periods; work is performed outdoors and through inclement weather as necessary
• Ability to carry out duties in a safe and efficient manner
• Stable multi‑year work history
• Attention to detail
• Dependability
• Previous electrical experience preferred but not required
• Good communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing)
• Valid driver's license and good driving record
• Minimum of 21 years of age and at least 3 years of driving experience due to insurance requirements
• Work boots required
• Personal smartphone required
• Background check clearance including drug screening and I-9 documentation as required by law
