Mobile Engineer

Job Description

Mobile Engineer responsible for ongoing preventive maintenance, repair and operation of facility systems and equipment including mechanical, electrical, lighting, HVAC, plumbing, boilers, pumps and related building systems.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, lighting and other installed systems.
  • Maintain, operate and repair all HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution, plumbing, building interior/exterior repair and related grounds.
  • Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence reporting on as‑found conditions affecting client occupancy and operations.
  • Respond effectively to all emergencies and may be required to travel during emergency events.
  • Operate and maintain boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, and lines used in distribution of steam and heated or processed water.
  • Maintain stock and inventory control.
  • Recommend improvements to the preventive maintenance program and submit monthly reports.
  • Study and become familiar with equipment for assigned client locations, including building automation, fire/life safety systems and other building‑related equipment.
  • Recognize danger and safety hazards, propose elimination methods, and use correct PPE.
  • Comply with applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies and company directives related to building operations and safety.
  • Maintain all Federal, State or Local licenses required for assigned locations.
  • Complete required safety training and maintain C&W uniform dress code.

Qualifications Education

A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. Graduate of an apprentice program or trade school preferred.

Experience

Minimum of four (4) years technical experience in all aspects of building engineering with a strong background in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and systems design.

Licenses or Certifications
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Appropriate trade license/permit as required by location.
  • Valid “Universal” level certification for CFC and HFC‑based refrigerants (EPA Section 608) to service, repair or dispose of equipment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experience in operation, maintenance and basic repair of HVAC, boilers, heaters, pumps, refrigerant systems, compressors, gas lines, water systems, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in energy management systems, techniques, and operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of all building system operations, maintenance, and repair.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills dealing with tenants, clients, and vendors.
  • Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel & Word; proficiency with smartphone/tablet usage, PDF uploads, and documents; working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
Physical Work Requirements
  • Environment: professional office or commercial building.
  • Ability to use PPE when necessary.
  • May require regular travel among properties in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to stoop, stand, climb, lift a minimum of 50 lbs., install rigging/lifting devices, crouch and reach. Must maintain clear communication.
Scheduling
  • Typical business hours based on location.
  • May work shifts, extended periods, on‑call duties and overtime as needed.
  • Must support after‑hours, weekends and respond to client callbacks.
  • Shifts may include first, second, or third shift schedules.
Conditions of Employment
