Position Summary
Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician – supporting and overseeing repair within Walmart facilities refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs. The role is part of a dynamic team focused on innovation, teamwork, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair Walmart facility’s Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and hand, digital, and power tools.
- Utilize the work‑order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
- Provide a prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines by performing work according to Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
- Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.
- 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
- Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience or TypeI/TypeII EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
- 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational or Technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years of mechanical maintenance or construction experience in a commercial HVAC/R setting, or 4 years of mechanical maintenance experience.
- Completion of a 2‑year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program.
- Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.
- Competitive Compensation – hourly range $25.00 – $50.00; premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.

The hourly wage range for this position is $25.00 – $50.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
