Salary

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $21.97 to $27.00. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.

Purpose of Position

Provide highly technical skills in construction, installation, operation, calibration, and maintenance of electronic and Control Systems on campus, and expertise in electronic/monitoring/power systems, VFD’s, Safety Circuits and Motor Starters.

Essential Functions
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Operate, install, calibrate, and maintain systems on campus.
  • Troubleshoot and install motors and VFD’s.
  • Support/assist HVAC mechanics, EMCS personnel, and other shops as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school graduation or equivalent, and a minimum of three (3) years of advanced journeyman level experience in operation, maintenance, and repair of related equipment, including two (2) years of building automation system experience.
  • Maintained a valid Texas driver license for a minimum of 3 years and can pass UTA’s driver license check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of electronic/control/instrumental school or equivalent, and a minimum of one (1) year electrical training.
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience in building automation.
  • Strong communication skills for positive interaction with campus staff, faculty, and students.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to use all hand and power tools common to the electrical trade.
  • Excellent alertness and careful attention to avoid injury to self and to others.
Work Schedule
  • Monday through Friday; 8:00am through 4:30pm.
Working Conditions
  • Driving of UT owned vehicle required.
  • May work in extreme temperatures.
  • May work in all weather conditions.
  • May work around electrical and/or mechanical hazards.
  • Position may be designated security-sensitive based on job duties or location.
