The Residential Glazier is a full-time, on-site role based in Haltom City, TX, focused on installing and servicing glass in residential settings. Day-to-day responsibilities include measuring, cutting, and installing glass for windows, doors, shower enclosures, railings, and other custom projects, ensuring accurate fit and secure installation. The role involves handling glass safely, preparing job sites, using hand and power tools, applying glazing compounds and sealants, and inspecting completed work for quality and safety.
The Residential Glazier will interpret work orders and drawings, collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects on schedule, and maintain clean, organized work areas and company vehicles. Regular interaction with homeowners and contractors is expected, including answering basic questions, providing courteous service, and representing Gatsby Glass in a professional manner.
- Experience with residential glass installations, including window and glazing work, with the ability to measure, cut, and fit glass accurately.
- Knowledge of door-related glass applications and hardware, ensuring proper alignment, sealing, and function of glass doors and enclosures.
- Familiarity with auto glass or other glass handling experience is beneficial, demonstrating safe handling, transport, and installation of glass materials.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, provide respectful, gender-neutral service, and resolve basic on-site concerns.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, measurements, and drawings; strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
- Competence using hand and power tools, ladders, and equipment required for glass installation; capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation to the Haltom City, TX warehouse and surrounding project locations; consistent punctuality and dependability.
- Prior experience in glazing is required (8-10 years experience in residential glaizing) ; relevant certifications or training in glass installation or construction safety are a plus.
