Join our service and repair shop as a mechanic, where you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and pumps, vac-loaders, and engines. Your role will include changing filters, seals, pulling vacs, and rebuilding pumps, as well as repairing rental equipment both in the shop and occasionally at customer sites within the DFW area. Effective communication with customers regarding service and setup is essential.
Be prepared to be on call as needed.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and pumps.
- Service vac-loaders and engines by changing filters and seals.
- Rebuild pumps and repair rental equipment in the shop.
- Travel to customer sites within the DFW area to provide service.
- Communicate effectively with customers for service and setup.
- Be on call as needed for emergency repairs and service calls.
- 3-5 years of experience with diesel engines and pumps.
- Proficiency in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Experience with inspection, fleet equipment, and circuit testing.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and rental equipment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in the repair industry or heavy equipment shop.
- Knowledge of Gorman Rupp pumps is advantageous.
- Extensive diesel engine repair experience.
- Heavy electrical knowledge, specifically 12V systems.
- Ability to provide own tools, with specialty tools provided.
We offer a consistent line of work as the official distributor of Gorman Rupp pumps. You will have the opportunity to train and enhance your skills in diesel engines and pumps.
Work EnvironmentWork in a small, non-climate controlled shop with a larger yard for spare parts and equipment. The environment is organized but not extremely clean. You will be the only mechanic on site, alongside an inside sales and operations manager. The position requires on-call availability, driving a company vehicle to sites if needed. Dress code includes steel-toe boots, jeans, and a work shirt.
Enjoy a day shift from 7:00am-4:00pm, Monday through Friday, with the requirement to be on-call one week per month, rotating with other mechanics. Overtime and weekends may be necessary, particularly if called to client sites.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
