THE OPPORTUNITY

Pro Services Workforce Solutions has partnered with a Fortune 500 corrugated packaging manufacturer to fill this Direct Hire opportunity for a 3rd Shift Industrial Maintenance Technician at their Arlington, TX facility.

This role is built for a strong mechanical and electrical tech who can walk up to a down machine, pull the prints, figure out what's wrong, and fix it. You'll keep a full corrugator line and converting equipment running on 3rd shift, working on mostly newer equipment with more new machines on the way.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

We're a Fortune 500 manufacturer with more than 16,000 employees across the U.S. We have a stable customer base in a recession-resistant industry, and our business is built on partnership: we solve problems for our customers, we don't just sell them a box.

Promoting from within is our number one goal. That same team mentality shows up on the floor, with a good working relationship between management and our hourly team.

Pro Services is recruiting for this site and stands behind this team as a place where skilled technicians can build a long-term career.

WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT
  • A manager who loves to teach. The Maintenance Manager is passionate about training and watching techs grow, and makes sure the team has the tools, equipment, and training they need. Every tech has his cell and can call him any time, on any shift.
  • You won't be thrown in solo. You'll spend your first 45 days on 1st shift working alongside the leads and the manager, starting with simpler jobs before you're assigned down machines on your own.
  • Newer equipment. Nearly all of the equipment is 2014 or newer, including a corrugator with a 2021 dry end and 2023 wet end, and more new machines are coming next year.
  • Time off that holds. Weekend work rotates so you get 3 weekends off a month.
  • Tools covered. You bring your basic hand tools. Specialty tools are provided, along with an annual tool allowance.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and replace mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems across plant equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain a full corrugator line and converting equipment, including Bobst flexo folder gluers, Sun and Ward rotary and flat die cutters, a Ward flexo, Geo Martin stackers, Alliance prefeeders and load formers, and Mosca unitizers and bundlers
    .
  • Handle reactive, planned, proactive, and predictive maintenance on both the mechanical and electrical side. The work runs about 60% mechanical, 30% electrical, and 10% other
    .
  • Service and replace bearings, shafts and seals, gearboxes, and conveyor systems, and rig heavy shafts and components with a forklift.
  • Set up and calibrate machines both mechanically and electrically.
  • Troubleshoot and replace AC and DC motors, drives, relays, and analog and digital sensors using a meter and electrical schematics.
  • Install and repair pumps and support the site's steam systems.
  • Pull and replace hydraulic cylinder glands when leaks come up, with more intricate rebuilds sent out.
  • Perform PMs on all equipment during 3rd shift, respond to emergency work orders quickly, and hand off anything unfinished so 1st shift can pick up where you left off.
  • Follow all safety policies, including lockout/tagout, and keep a safe, clean work area.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a similar manufacturing environment, at the A or AA level.
  • Strong mechanical skills. Hands-on experience with bearings, shafts and seals, gearboxes, conveyors, and reading mechanical prints.
  • Solid electrical skills. Intermediate-level electrical experience, confident meter use, relay work, and the ability to read and follow electrical schematics.
  • Drive experience, including installing and programming drives.
  • Rigging experience, including moving heavy shafts and bearings with a forklift.
  • Experience setting up and calibrating machines.
  • Basic hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
  • Working knowledge of steam systems. It isn't the top priority, but it is required.
  • Basic computer skills, since everything is digital, plus working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong deductive reasoning. You can pivot when your first idea doesn't pan out instead of getting stuck.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Your own basic hand tools.
