Summary The Sr. Software Engineer is a key role of t he Technology and Product Development (TPD) Team that delivers forward leaning technology, and solutions to CAE through research and new products development initiatives . The Sr. Software Engineer is responsible for development of full - stack application s , working with a team of software engineers to build high performance containerized solutions us ing a n Angular or Reac t framework for front-end development and .NET

fram ework for back-end development . This is a full-time, in office position.

* Responsible for planning , design, coding, integrating, testing, and documenting software/systems in support of products and R&D projects in c ollaborat ion with Technical Leads and Product Managers to solve complex problems for CAE and the US Department of Defense

* Work with cross-functional teams to integrate solutions into production environments

* Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) in an Agile environment

* Mentor and p rovide technical guidance to jun ior level software engineers

* P erform effectively as part of a project team Qualifications and Education Requirements
* Bachelor's or m aster's degree in engineering, software, or computer science

* Minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience or a master's degree in engineering or computer science with 3 years of software engineering experience

* Must have had formal software programming training classes

* Demonstrated proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages : C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python
* Experience with frontend framework s , specifically Angular or React for building responsive and dynamic user interfaces

* Experience with b ackend development on .Net framework

* Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance

* Excellent presentation, communication and organizational skills

* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret English language professional journals, technical procedures, or government specification s

* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customer s

* Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role Preferred Skills
* Experience b uilding and consuming RESTful APIs
* Foundational knowledge of relational databases, with hands-on experience using PostgreSQL
* Exposure to messaging systems like Kafka or Rabi tMQ and caching systems like Redis
* Experience with containerization technologies, primarily Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (K8s)

* W orking knowledge of Python & Bash for scripting, tooling, or minor service development

* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git
* Experience deploying containerized software to cloud platforms like Azure
* Experience with container runtime environments such as Docker and container-orchestration systems such as Kubernetes

* Experience with MS Visual Studio and VS Code
* Familiar ity with Linux terminal commands and scripting

* Familiarity with geospatial data using GDAL, Geoserver , Open Layers , Leaflet, or Cesium

* Exposure to Machine Learning and Data Analytics , Virtual Reality , and 3D Modeling is a plus Security Responsibilities Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.
